Crop pants, aka “culottes”, are back and better than ever; so who’s cropping it like it’s hot with me? I can’t get enough! Whether it’s casual or dressy, this style is hitting the streets with vengeance!
We all know that crop tops, which I love, have been back for a while with changing styles; but pants have officially received the memo and stepped up their game to be hotter than ever this season! From wide-leg pants to jumpsuits to jeggings, I had to get some in every style. If your mood is in-between a pant and a short, crop, is clearly, your winner. I covered crops a little in the “6 Casual Summer Essentials” blog; but some of you asked for more details, so I wanted to cover the details along with the dressy style, as well!
What I love most is that this style can be super casual or super dressed up for both day and night! Plus, it’s wedding season; so I thought this may give you all some outfit inspo for wedding wear! I wore the pants pictured below to a wedding this season! Don’t worry, I didn’t wear that shirt to the wedding lol! I would have felt way to scandalous for a wedding :p. I wore a black off-shoulder bodysuit. However, it was in Colorado and 39 degrees; so needless to say, I didn’t get a pic that night because I stayed cozy in my jacket haha! But, if you keep up with my Insta-story, you saw the actual outfit before we left. Now, I can totally wear it again since I wore my jacket the whole night at the wedding. I know we all hate covering our fav outfits with jackets; but it was “survival of the fittest” cold that night; so I stayed snuggled. Remember, I’m from Louisiana; so 39 degrees is considered freezing in my book!
I also found two jumpsuits in this style at TJ Maxx recently and a great quality one at Bebe, which you all saw in my Insta-story recently, as well! I had originally planned to wear one of these (below) to the Colorado wedding; but when I looked at the weather while packing, they were removed quickly from the suitcase! Now, I have to make some plans to get fancy 🙂
Lots of people on the shorter side, like myself, have asked if they can wear this style? Answer: ABSOLUTELY!!! Don’t get me wrong, it’s not going to be your most elongating outfit; but if that’s not a big deal, ROCK IT! Trust me, I’m only 5’4″ and I’ve been sporting them like crazy! And, as you can see in the photo below, my TJ Maxx crop pant has linear pinstripes, which ended up giving me more of an elongating look; so have confidence that you can definitely still reach that “looking taller” or “looking slimmer” goal with this look!
And for the casual look, my fav place to find my crops are at American Eagle because they come in tall, regular, and short lengths! I’m 5’4″ and ordered the short length; and they’re perfect!
