Mignon Faget Halo Bangles
In case you missed it, Dean and I recently celebrated eight years of marriage! That’s crazy to me because it seems like the blink of an eye but, in my honest opinion, being married to him is the epitome of “time flies when you are having fun!”. Usually, we aren’t big on gift getting and we just spend time together or go on a mini vaca but, this year, he wanted to surprise me with getting me one of my favorite bangle bracelets and it definitely put a big smile on my face because I’m obsessed with my Mignon Faget Halo bangles (John Humphries Collection).
I know you guys have seen these bangles in almost ALL of my Instagram photos and I get compliments on them daily; so, I wanted to elaborate and share some details with you all so you can either start your own collection or add to it if you already have some!
If you’re not familiar with Mignon Faget, let me give you a little snippet. First off, this handcrafted jewelry is all inspired by and designed in New Orleans and made in America! Faget has a very unique approach to her creations making each piece a timeless and extraordinary piece of art. I had the honor to meet Mignon Faget herself and what. a. doll!!! She was so sweet, helpful, and knowledgable but, duh, it’s HER designs! You know, sometimes, owners of companies don’t really have much to do with the designing; and, when I was chatting with her, I could just tell that she puts lots of thought, clarity, and specificity into each piece and collection. You can read more about Mignon and the company here and I highly suggest to do so because it’s really interesting info about how it started along with how each collection came about!
Shop my Look (top is from last season so I linked similar):
Side note: When I was growing up, you were “cool” if you had a Mignon Faget piece of jewelry, particularly the tulip ring, so I’m definitely not a new customer and I’m keeping the collecting going because each piece and collection is so unique.
I was introduced to the Halo bangles about a year ago when I got one and I wore it with everything. I mixed it with some other bracelets of my own to give it a “set” effect but I always had people point to that specific one and ask details about it. Over the year, I sporadically added two more making three total. Then, like I said, Dean surprised me with wanting to get me one for our anniversary because he knows how bad I wanted to complete the collection so I’m on my way with a total of four now 🙂
Recently, I met a new friend and upon meeting we realized we had the same Halo bracelets and we both complimented them like crazy when we noticed and chatted about how amazing they are! Our favorite part is that they are bangles but they don’t make a “clanky” noise. I mean, thank you Mignon Faget for that victory :D. But, really, they don’t make any noise, they are so durable, and they can be dressed up or down – we all know I love that part so, again, I wear them daily!
If you want to start your own collection, I recommend getting them in the following order – Rose gold or green gold as the first two in no particular order, then sterling silver, then stainless steel/gunmetal. I am looking at the black next. I felt like that order really complimented each other as well as my other pieces that I wear in the process of collecting them because they go with anything. I’m a huge fan of mixing metals when it comes to my accessories and these make it so easy to do so bringing everything together! However, if you rather all one color, you can always do three or four of the same color and go for the monochromatic look! Oh, and, once I finish the standard colors, I want to add the Mardi Gras colors, as well, because I have to represent my city when I travel! That’s definitely some New Orleans inspired pieces!
I also wanted to share with you all the Hive Cuff from the Hive Collection, which is a sterling silver and honey crystal collection that pays tribute to the harmonious nature of bees and their natural talent for architecture! The Mignon Faget team was so nice to give me this to wear to my End Trip film premiere in Los Angeles and I fell in love with it so much that I wanted to share it with you all because I want to start adding to this collection now! I’m going to have Dean set up with what to get me for our next few occasions lol! My favorite part about the Hive Collection is that it has a wide variety of pieces from unique and dainty pieces that are perfect for everyday to statement pieces to mix and match for a bolder look.
And last, but not least, since Dean and I are celebrating eight years of marriage, I wanted to leave you all with eight signs that you know you’re in a healthy relationship:
- Listen to each other – The ability to listen to someone is an amazing quality. Not just hear them but listen to them and understand them. Listen to their feelings, thoughts, concerns, victories, etc.
- Support each other in your goals – This is huge! We are all our own worst critic and sometimes probably think that our own goals and dreams might be a little farfetched; but, to have someone support you, cheer for you, encourage you, and be your biggest fan along the way, makes a huge difference and this goes both ways!
- If an argument occurs, the communication is talking, no yelling or name calling – Dean and I declared this from day one. Neither of us are really yellers or name callers but it’s definitely a clear sign that talking and communicating well was a sign of a healthy relationship.
- Always compliment each other – Sometimes we let our daily life get the best of us and forget to say “you look beautiful” or “your hugs are best”, etc. Don’t let those little complements slip away because those little things make a big difference!
- Be a Team – Besides going by “Team West”, Dean and I are an actual team! Yes, we have our own lives and goals but we are always looking out for the other and putting each other first. We focus on the “team” and not just ourselves!
- Appreciating the small things – this was mentioned above in complimenting but it goes further than that. Do unexpected favors for each other – whether it’s helping with chores or picking up a random surprise, it’s the little things that never go unnoticed!
- Make decisions together – I’m not talking about what movie to watch or what snack to eat here, although that should be a group effort lol, but make financial and life decisions together for the big things that matter making sure you’re both on the same page.
- Random hugs and kisses – this is one of those “little things” but it goes a very long way. We all deal with our daily struggle and stresses; and, if you’re in a healthy relationship, there’s no safer and better place to be than in your significant others arms. Therefore, always reach out and give those extra hugs because, although you may not realize it at that moment, it always means the world to the other person!
Ok, I’ll stop being all sappy and get back to the jewelry! But, if you want more relationship advice, check out one of my previous blogs, 6 Essentials for a Positive, Happy Relationship.
I hope I introduced you all to a new favorite jewelry brand and/or collection. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below, contact me, or ask on Instagram and let me know which pieces you chose! And don’t forget to tag me in your photos! I look forward to sharing more of my collections with you all as I expand them!
XOXO,
Michelle
