Sleeve Drama Season
Goooood morning, everyone!!! I was going to launch a different blog today; but this one stuck out to me because this trend is totally claiming its territory on this upcoming fall season! In that case, you guys might get two blogs this week; but I couldn’t let the week go by without doing this post on SLEEVE DRAMA!!!! This season is all about the sleeves! Whether they are ruffles, bell shaped, layered, puffy, or anything in between, it is a must have in your closet this season!

As I was looking back on a lot of my Instagram pics, mainly to see what you guys want to read about, I noticed that you all have been commenting and loving lots of the tops with elaborate sleeves. Also, I’ve received lots of DM’s about them, as well, especially about the blue striped top pictured above, which is linked in the ‘shop my looks’ link above! Soooooo, since I am always striving to give you all content that you’re requesting, I wanted to do a recap singling out the sleeves!

Some of you were asking what’s the best way to pair them! Now, if you all remember in some of my previous blogs, especially Layering Summer Looks, we chatted about ‘balance’. We want to make sure we don’t have too many statement pieces that clash; so, with that said, if the sleeves are the elaborate statement pieces, we want to go with a simple, chic bottom. You can see below that I took black denim cutoff shorts to a new level with the dramatic sleeves and some block heels! We can dress anything up or down; but it’s just making sure that it doesn’t clash with too much at one time.

This trend goes for both shorts and long sleeves. This rust-orange off-the-shoulder top is very simple; but with just that little sleeve flare, it spices up the entire outfit. Also, I gave examples of it below with jeans, as well as some black crop trousers. I’m obsessed with these new black trousers (under $40 … wowza) because they’re an alternative to skirts when you just want to go a little dressier than jeans. Plus, they’re a great option for the 9-5 working woman, especially during the current warm months in the south! Switch the top and add a sleeveless blazer, and you’re winning fashionista of the month at work!

Sleeve Drama has even taken over t-shirts; and this is been my repeat obsession, as I am sure you guys have noticed because I called myself out on it on Instagram! The top below is one of the most comfortable t-shirts I have; and I love it because it adds a little bit of a dressier vibe to a t-shirt look. This was on major sale last week; but they sold out fast. BUT if they restock, I promise to deliver the news to you guys :D. In the mean time, I linked similar tops below if you guys want to achieve the same look 🙂

I also wanted to include this floral set (below) on this blog because even though it’s not “sleeves”, the ties on the outfit act as sleeves and bring the outfit to another level rather than just being a strapless top. They add a little pizazz to a simple floral set! I remember lots of you guys loved this outfit on Instagram; and it’s one of my newest fav outfits. Plus, as with any set, I love that we can mix and match with other pieces in our closet! That’s alway a win/win for me when it comes to sets because I feel like I’m getting more for my money! Guilty confessions of a bargain shopper 😀

Last but not least, if you guys saw my recent blog post all about FOI Boutique, you already saw some of their sleeve drama; but I wanted to include my recent favs from them again because their ‘Sleeve Drama’ game is on point! In my last blog, I even specified my love for their statement pieces! If you’re not local, you can call in to order; but check out my last blog from them for more details on that!
