Hi Hi Hi! I hope you are doing amazing and had a great July 4th holiday with your family and friends! We kept it chill with a pool day at a family member’s house. I actually put my phone inside for the whole day and it was really refreshing to be present with family! Charli is ALLLLLL about swimming since our family Bach vacation in June. Speaking of, if you missed the blog post, I went into lots of detail on our stay at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. I’m literally counting down the days until our next beach trip. I am either all about swimsuits and the beach or ready for sweaters and the holidays season, there’s no in between lol! But, while I’m in the swimsuit mood, I wanted to share my swimsuit must haves with you. I always share them on the LTK app when I initially purchase them. But I like to do a detailed blog post once I’ve worn them for a bit to chat about the quality, comfort, whether you get wedgies or not … you know, the important stuff!
Soooooo, let’s jump right into it! First, I want to give two styling tips when it comes to swimsuits!
- High-waisted swimsuits will give the illusion of a thinner waist because they create line at the smallest part of the waist, hence “cinching” it in!
- High-cut swimsuits (on the leg) will elongate your legs because they give the illusion that your legs “begin” higher than they actually do!
Mommy and Me Swimsuit Must Have
This is my favorite swimsuit of the summer, hands down! It might get a little extra love because Charli and I match but it has been the most worn by both of us! Charli picks it first over her Peppa Pig and Minnie Mouse swimsuits lol! If you don’t have a mini, you can still wear it and the shop has lots of print options. It’s also a small shop so I like to give extra love for the small businesses!
They are made to order but I found that they still arrived in a very timely manner. Once you enter your info, it will give you the estimated arrival.

Here’s why it’s our favorite! First of all, it is such great quality. Thick material that gives an extra feeing of security while it’s on. The cut is so flattering. It does’t hug right at the top of thigh, it is high cut, elongating the legs! And it has small cups in the top so no nips show but they aren’t too thick! Bonus, you can remove them if you want and/or put other cups in if you prefer! Oh and it’s easy to fold the bottoms down if you want to lay out and not have a high-waisted tan line. I always pay attention to that when picking out high-waisted!
I love this one so much that I got Charli the next size up so we can match next year also :). AND I got myself the other style in it too but hadn’t had a chance to wear it yet. I also contacted the company and will possibly be designing a fall and spring collection! If you’re reading this, you’re one of the first to know so stay tuned and I’m sooooo excited!
High-Waisted + High-Cut Bikini
If I had to pick a favorite besides the Mommy and Me above, it would be this color-block bikini. The colors are two of the highest trending colors for summer and the cut and design is so flattering. It’s thick material so I feel secure in it. It comes in a hot pink/orange color combo option too! The bottom doesn’t fold down easily on this one so that’s something to consider if tan lines are a concern for you.

But I also love this one below as well because the top has very thing straps so you get thinner tan lines if the sun is out that day and the bottom folds down I you want it to :). This comes n a pink color as well but it’s styled a little different! I actually bought both styles, the high and low waist, in this one!

And, bonus note, these shorts below are a favorite as well. I bought them in four colors and doubled up on the medium wash. They are a great length, roomy, and have an elastic waist in the back, which is added comfort. I have worn these like crazy and am always so comfy in them! I wear an XS for reference

One-Piece Swimsuit
I usually don’t wear one piece swimsuits because I don’t want the one-piece tan line and, obviously, with this swimsuit, it would leave some interesting tan lines lol. It’s just soooooo cute that I couldn’t pass it up! Therefore, I would wear this one for a night swim, hot tub, cloudy day, etc. I love that the tie sash gives that same illusion of a thinner waist, which (to be clear) I’m not saying that you need to be thin! I am just giving tips on what swimsuits are flattering on certain areas of the body regardless of your size and shape!

Also, another must have for ME for one piece swimsuits. The back elastic has to cut around the lower back and not extend to the middle or upper back. My butt sticks out so if it doesn’t cut around the lower back, there’s just a huge gap in the swimsuit lol. This one makes the cut so it is, by far, my favorite one-piece swimsuit!
Off-Shoulder High-waisted
That’s one was so nice, I bought it twice! I actually bought the mommy and me one twice as well, but who’s counting! This is another one that fits so well and is super flattering. The only thing I would change is that I would make the legs a little higher cut but I really don’t mind where they hit.

The bottoms fold down for tanning if you don’t want a high waisted tan line, and you can easily pop your arms out of the sleeves. This isn’t my go to style for the beach but I love this one for a hot tub night or evening pool party.

I have to note this because it is very important! When I did the try-on with this swimsuit, Charli woke up from her nap in the middle of it so I had to go get her, make food, feed her, and get her settled all while wearing this swimsuit. I am very happy to say that it was never uncomfortable and I didn’t get a wedgy. That says a lot when you’re chasing around a toddler 😂. To some, that’s semantics, but, to moms, that’s important info that can make or break a decision!
If you have a vacay coming up,
I hope I’ve either helped you find a comfy swimsuit or gave you inspo for something you may already have in your closet! Now that we’ve covered this, stay tuned for the self-tanner blog post coming up next. Leave any questions below! And, per usual, tag me on Instagram so I can see how you styled your looks!
Also, I am so excited to announce that I will be bringing a lot of content to YouTube! Just things like “a day in the life”, family life, the home reno, and lots of Charli cuteness so stay tuned for that and subscribe to my YouTube for updates!
