The Westin Jackson
Good afternoon, everyone! If we are Instagram friends, you are no stranger to The Westin Jackson, as I have been posting lots of pics from Dean and I’s mini vaca/work trip to Jackson, Mississippi. As you all know my hubby, Dean, is an acting coach and he has been in high demand for acting workshops across the southeast region. We are so thankful that The Westin Jackson was so gracious to host not only the workshop for Dean West Acting Studio; but they also hosted Dean and I for the weekend and we could not have been more pleased!
First, I want to tell you all a little about the hotel because it is gorgeous and, might I add, DOG FRIENDLY!!! We were so excited to see all the pups there during the weekend. We didn’t bring our fur babies because of the workshop but we definitely will next time. Second, which is really first but dogs get me giddy, the staff is AH-mazing. They were some of the nicest people, treated everyone so wonderful, and were so helpful. Not only did they make sure our stay was incredible, but they also recommended placed and things to do around Jackson! Plus, on a blogger note, if we had to get any specific shots, they turned extra lights on for us and helped us out! They totally didn’t have to because we could have arranged different times; but they totally extended the help and gesture! Just great people all around!
The room! Our hotel room was so nice and cozy! When I travel, I love to go back to my hotel room and feel like I can snuggle up and feel at home; and The Westin Jackson nailed it. It had a little reading nook with an overhead lamp and a super cozy bed with extra pillows (huge bonus because we all need that leg pillow) as you can see in the photo above. How adorable is the reading nook?! I want one in my room! And the bathroom was one that I would like to have in my own house. The lighting around the mirror was impeccable and, ladies, they also have a close-up make-up mirror that extends right to the center of the lighting (in the top right corner of the photo below). Makes for fantastic makeup application!! I need to chat with their designer and find out where to get that mirror lol! Oh, and the very spacious shower has the overhead rain water spout and the handheld spout. Total shower goals when Dean and I remodel, which is hopefully sooner than later! Hint to Dean :p In fact, can their designer just come decorate my house?!
The hotel also had an indoor pool, which was perfect for this time of year as well as a 24-hour workout area. I was exhausted and didn’t make it to workout while we were there (slacking on those 2018 resolutions ha); but, Dean loved it and thought there was a great assortment of brand new state of the art equipment. I agree but I just didn’t make it to use it like he did lol! Being that he taught the workshop, I don’t know how he wasn’t the exhausted one. He’s such a trooper!
Shop my look. Skirt also comes in red. Similar tops and shoes because mine are from last year:
Speaking of the acting workshop, the conference rooms were set up so professional and convenient for any sort of workshop or business meeting. They have all the electronics that you would need for a presentation, which is super convenient because we all want to pack as little as possible when traveling. They have an entire hallway dedicated to a row of conference rooms and ballrooms ready to cater to anything from a business event to a wedding reception and anything in between. And the chandeliers in the ballroom are beautiful and make for great decor in the background of photos, hence the photo below in my faux fur!
We indulged in some drinks and small bites with our friends at the in-house dining, Estelle Wine Bar & Bistro! Call me simple, but I’m a succor for french fries. I know, those of you who really know me are thinking “wait, you, health nut?”. Yes, I LOVE french fries so we got a little mix for the table – fries and a pizza. Oh, and Dean got a caesar salad. His love for caesar is equivalent to mine for french fries! He makes my vaca choices look bad lol! We didn’t get a pic of the pizza because apparently we were that hungry; but, overall, all of the food and drinks were delish! Now, I’m craving fries! The bar area was such a chill vibe that’s perfect to relax and grab a drink or even a few for a night out … whatever your preference. Just drink responsibly and Uber 🙂

Last but not least! The Spa (aka Soul Spa)!!! In all honesty, this was my favorite part and we didn’t even get a chance to go. Uggghhh!! I know, crazy right?!! We had a good bit of prep to do for the workshop. Then, we ended up running behind on time. However, this just means that we will HAVE to go back for the spa experience. We were going to get the couples massage until I saw the date night package, which I will get to in a second; but everything on the brochure sounded so tempting. About the date night package, the Ultimate Indulgence at the Soul Spa, my main reason for wanting to go back in full vaca mode. This is a 4-hour private after hours from 7-11pm buy-out that gives you and your partner complete exclusivity to the spa. The experience begins with a 50-minute personalized couples massage. Then you’re treated to a personalized 50-minute side-by-side facial with your loved one. Rounding out the treatments, they finish with a couples spa pedicure. THEN, post-pampering, indulge your taste buds with a luxury dessert from Estelle Wine Bar & Bistro served with a bottle of Dom Perignon to share in their relaxation room. Wait, it’s not over, for a lasting finish, you’re treated to some of their exclusive spa products to take home with as a special gift. Don’t worry, I’m totally drooling right now too! If I would have known about this amazing package earlier, I swear I would have planned that trip differently; BUT, like I said, we are going back for an ultimate date night to take advantage of this package! I can’t wait to report back to you guys how amazing it is!
Now that we are all in love with this place and dreaming of the french fries, spa treatments, and desserts you all have to let me know how you love it when you visit! Whether it’s work, leisure, or just a stop along the way, The Westin Jackson is definitely the place you want to be. You have everything in once place, it’s stunning from corner to corner, and the staff is so warm and welcoming that we are calling it our little Jackson home!
Big thank you again to The Westin Jackson for hosting #TeamWest and Dean West Acting Studio. We look forward to a reunion soon! I gave you guys a sneak peek of a jumpsuit in this blog; so stay tuned for some ways to wear it along with some Valentines Day Date Night ideas coming soon!
Until next time, peace and love!
XOXO,
Michelle
