VALENTINE’S DAY GIFT GUIDE FOR HIM & HER

It’s the month of love!!!  It’s one of my favorite months of the year because not only is it heartastic but it is also Dean’s birthday so I get to play double cupid and smother him with love and gifts!  He never actually “wants” anything so I have to get creative.  With that said I’m sharing his bday and vday gifts since it’s Valentine’s Day; so let’s chat a Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Him and Her!

First and foremost, regardless who you are buying for, ALWAYS include a thoughtful card with a handwritten message.  It can be heartfelt or funny, whatever fits your relationship best; but, to me, the card is always the best part.  Dean and I usually end up getting one of each, heartfelt and funny, because we both love writing a beautiful message; but, on the other hand, we are both goofballs and are always laughing so we can’t pass up the funny ones!  So, just a reminder, don’t forget the card(s) to go along with the gifts below!

Oh, and for those of you who were thinking gifts cards, this is the one occasion where a gift card is NOT ok!  I mean, if it’s for a bestie, boss babe, etc, that’s fine; but, for your significant other, this is the occasion that has to represent a little more than a gift card.  And, we all know, I am usually 150% a fan of gift cards, as they’re actually my favorite gift, just not for Valentine’s Day.  This occasion needs a little extra TLC! 🙂

According to my analiytics, 70% of you reading this are women; so I’m going to cover the ‘gifts for him’ first!

I was really excited to team up with Ulta Beauty and Blackwood for Men to put together the perfect combo for Dean for Valentine’s Day.  This is a mens grooming line that nourishes and protects with the best premium care products. Their botanical-rich products are all paraben-free, cruelty-free, and ocean safe.  Dean has been loving their products; and, they even have a facial massager to unpuff and dewrinkle the eyes :).  So, give your man a facial massage on heart day!  I linked some their products below; but, good news, Ulta carries their products so, if you’re a little late, run to your nearest Ulta and snag some goodies for your man because they’re currently having a buy 2 get 1 free promotion!!

If your man is a coffee drinker, this Yeti tumbler is a huge win; but, don’t stop there, get him the icing on the cake – the flashlight handle combo.  I could have gotten only this present for Dean for Christmas and he would have given me the “wife of the year” award!  He’s obsessed with it; so, I promise, this is ‘guy approved’!

You can never go wrong with a good pair of socks, esp for the sock enthusiast himself!  I’ve linked Dean’s fav pairs below because, let’s be honest, ladies, if you’re going to get your man socks on Valentines Day, you might as well tell him he’s your hero while doing so!

Ok, so this is really awesome!  I actually just ordered this for Dean and I’m really pumped about it!  It’s a beanie with a bluetooth headset!  How cool is that?!  I know it won’t be cold for much longer in New Orleans; but he can get a little use out of it for now and I know he will wear it out next fall/winter.  Even though I didn’t give this to him yet, I already know it’s ‘guy approved’!

If you have a 9-5er man, these bags are amazing!  Dean has the backpack version for his camera gear and he loves it and always get’s compliments on it!

This docking station is a must have!  Dean has one kind of like this; but I think it’s time to upgrade to this one.  As we know, men are so much simpler than us when it comes to their accessories; so this is the perfect little station to put on his nightstand or dresser for him to grab all of his necessities before running out of the door in the morning.

Here’s a few more ideas that I just thought were really cool and, again, ‘Dean approved’, I thought most guys would enjoy.  I mean you can’t go wring with a tape cassette usb drive.  How cool!  The wireless bluetooth headset, well, my dad has it and loves it!  He always stays up to par with the newest technology, which we love because he gives the hand-me-downs to us lol!  And the sound amplifier is a HUGE win for the entertainer, the workout guy, and even the guy who just likes his music loud while working in the house or yard!  It’s actually on our wishlist for entertainment so Dean may get that for V-day also!

And last but not least!  If your man is obsessed with Bitcoin like mine, there’s always this!  Honestly, I don’t know if this one is ‘guy approved’ because I didn’t get it for Dean; but, if your guy takes pride in his Bitcoin, he may enjoy this lol!  This one is on you if he doesn’t like though lol!

Whether you’re buying for your significant other or a gal pal bestie, I’ve got you covered!  In addition to the gifts I will cover below, there’s always flowers and chocolate.  I’ll be honest, I’m chocolate over flowers any day of the week but most women LOVE flowers; so, if anything, guys (or girls) get your lady a single rose!  They’ll melt!  Below are some more ideas and all are ‘Michelle Approved’ because I either have them or they’re on my wishlist 🙂

Perfumes are ALWAYS a great gift on V-day and my top 3 (in no particular order) are:  Alien, Flowerbomb, and Chanel’s Chance.  Alien is the longest lasting and most bold of the scents.  I’ll be honest, the first day I wore it, it took me a second to decide if I liked it; but it grew on me quickly and I get tons of compliments!  Plus, bonus, if you get the refillable bottle, you can go to any department store and refill it at a discount!  Make sure it’s the refillable bottle though!  Flowerbomb!  I’ve been hooked on this one for years.  It’s such an elegant floral smell and it’s perfect for everyday and long lasting.  Its name represents its scent perfectly.  And, finally, Chance by Chanel might be my fav of all time.  When I wear this one, I’ve literally had people ask to smell me again and then they ask about the scent.  It’s such an elegant and sexy scent if that makes “scents” ha, JK!  Dad joke!  Back to the point, I’ve had both the eau tendre (pink) and the eau fraiche (green).  I like the pink a little more than the green but both are ‘top of the list’ winners in my book!  If you doubt any gift, don’t doubt Chance by Chanel!  Scout’s Honor!

Another gift you can never go wrong with is a handbag!  I linked my favs below in various price ranges.  One designer, by Hammit, and the other is a cool one that I found on amazon; then, a few extras!  I have an upcoming blog all about the Hammit one; but, for now, trust me that it is a perfect V-day gift, esp in the sandstone pebble color.

If she’s a traveler, I couldn’t recommend this luggage more!  I have it and it is on sale!  It’s so sleek and spacious and the quality is impeccable.  It rolls so smoothly, which is what we always want in airports and hotels, right?!  Any traveler would love this as a gift!

Beauty gifts are always a great option; but, it has to be something where you don’t have to worry about color matching, like a foundation, or anything like that!  Soooo, here are some ‘Michelle Approved’ beauty and/or girly scores that you can go wrong with!

Or, on that note, you can go big and get her this amazing vanity!!!  I love my vanity and don’t know how I could go without one now; but I kind of want to upgrade to this beauty!  I’d have to eat canned tuna for a month because I’d be broke; but, if it’s in your budget, I promise your lady would love this!

For the earthy babe, these are both amazing gifts!  I have both and use them constantly.  I use the diffuser more in my tub room but you can use it anywhere in the house!  My salt rock lamp is on when I’m working at my desk, so currently lol!  We actually have one in each room of the house because of the ion balance benefit!  I highly recommend!!

If she loves clothes, any of these are easy as far as picking size; and I either have them or have on my wishlist … so, again, ‘Michelle Approved’ :).  I liked these because I was keeping it simple and relaxing and these are a few of my recent favs; oh, and, add on the socks as an extra, guys, and let her know that she’s your Wonder Woman!
