Velvet Trends
Chatting Velvet Trends of all sorts!
Textures of all sorts and shags have been rocking the runways this season and I am SO glad that velvet is one of them! Who else is loving the velvet trend this season? I have always been a sucker for velvet and have always had a dress or two in my closet but I love that the trend has not only made its way back, but it’s also making it all the way to t-shirts, graphic tees, booties, and so much more! Even better, velvet is totally becoming a year round material trend! When the spring comes, I will show you guys some transitions with some of these same pieces 🙂

I’ve received tons of questions about these faux leather moto leggings so I wanted to include a detail shot for you all! However, it’s pointless because mine are out of stock, ugh; so I’ve linked the spanx leather moto leggings above in the ‘shop my look’ link for you all. Honestly, I actually like them better than mine because of the fit. Mine are a little big. I know they are a bit pricey; but if there is something you’re going to splurge on and you’ve been wanting a good pair of leather leggings, I highly recommend them. I tried them on and was really mad that I already had a pair because I much rather the Spanx brand!
Any who, back to velvet! I feel like velvet brings out so many aspects of our personality from the royal vibes to the rocker chic vibes, and it totally just depends on how you pair it that day! I can dress any of these items or down with just a change of a shoe and/or pant! And, is it just me or when you wear velvet do you feel your clothes constantly and look like you’re randomly, weirdly rubbing your body?! Not just me? Thanks guys! I feel much better about myself 🙂
Before we get to these photos below, I know the burgundy velvet cami ones have been on repeat if you’ve seen my Outerwear Under $40 blog or my Metallic Vibes blog or my Instagram lol; but I LOVE how it pretty much sums up so many trends of the season without being overwhelming! I promise this is probably the last blog I will use those photos though … and I said ‘probably’ just to cover my ass in case they pop up again LOL! On another note, this Maggy London burgundy dress below is a MUST-HAVE for holiday parties! It’s a great fit and the cold shoulder openings are perfect to give it that extra little pop of pizzaz. I’m going to wear it to our agency holiday party next month 🙂
Side note, last year at the party one of my agents told me, “I always look froward to what you’re going to be wearing at all of the parties.” Therefore, I always give myself a challenge to top the year before; and I’m pretty sure, thanks to Maggy London, I’ll be able to say “mission accomplished” again this year! I’ll let you guys know after the party! 😀

Three tips to wearing velvet:
- Always pick one piece of your outfit to be velvet, even if it is a jumpsuit .. that’s still one piece 😉
- I’m loving the velvet jumpers on trend; but, since I’m petite, I need to try one on before ordering online or I will pay a fortune trying to get it altered, and my lady is affordable lol, but velvet and suede are a little tougher to alter!
- Accessories don’t count as a piece of the outfits. Feel free to double up on these!
- Know that you can pair velvet up or down. Velvet does not have to be worn with heels. It can totally be worn with jeans and sneaks, like how I styled it with my moto leggings.
- If you don’t want to branch out into the wardrobe pieces yet, start with an accessory, i.e. a small handbag or cross body.
I hope you enjoyed this blog and I’m always here for fashion advice, as I truly enjoy connecting and engaging with you all!
Until next time, peace and love!
XOXO,
Michelle
