Hey everyone! Ok, I’m getting right to the point today – I’m having a moment! It’s a ‘ways 2 wear’ moment!!! So for starters, I’m going to need some feedback to see if you all like these ‘ways to wear’ type posts because I figured I would start doing them when I find a unique piece of clothing like these embroidered jeans, which I am super obsessed with because if this does’t scream “Hello, Fall”, then what does?
I was walking out of Forever 21 the other day; and they must have just put them out because they were on the mannequin with all sizes available; and an item this adorable, wouldn’t last long! But, don’t worry, about FOMO because they still have some online; and, if your size is out of stock, you can jump on the waitlist because I am sure they will restock in these beauties!
These jeans are such a great, high-waisted fit and the perfect length. They fit true to size and have a raw hem, which is one of my favs because, being a shorty, I cut all my jeans to a raw hem. I hope that stays on trend for a while! 😀
For my ‘ways to wear’, I wanted to show both a dressy look and a casual look!
For casual, I paired it with my black mock-neck crop top, as I love pairing a crop top with high waisted jeans because, in my opinion, it shows the perfect amount of skin for that look! I could have also worn my Steve Madden slides with these, but I was just feeling my block heels that day. For the upcoming chilly weather, I decided to accent it with my destroyed denim jacket. (Side note, I linked similar for the denim jacket because mine is from last season but I still have it on total repeat.) I liked pairing the denim jacket with the monochrome look, (well, monochrome, minus the embroidery), so things didn’t get too crazy with the colors, as I love a sleek look!
For the dressy look, I picked this white cold-shoulder button-down top! I love a button-down but I like them to be a little “extra” (if you feel me) and this one was the perfect match. The cold-shoulder gave it the extra flare it needed without being too much for the embroidered jeans. I mean, if the jeans are “extra” the shirt can’t be “too extra”, right? Side note, this has become one of my new fav shirts, which is funny because it took me a while to jump on the cold-shoulder train; but, now, they almost have their own section in my closet!
Here’s a few tips when it comes to wearing a piece of such statement, as these jeans:
- Make sure your other pieces of the outfit are solid, simple pieces. If you try to mix too many statement pieces, you can hit a ‘clashy’ wall very quickly. I have a pair of black embroidered booties, which you may have seen on my Instagram, with this same embroidery; however, I wouldn’t wear them together because it would be like two kids fighting for attention. Keep one bold piece and the rest simple and solid.
- If you are going to add another color in, make sure it is in the same color family, or that color is included in the embroidered design. As you can see, I styled the dressier look with the white top since white is in the embroidered design of the jeans. Red could work if done right but, in my opinion, red is a very bold color, so I favored the white. However, I definitely wouldn’t be mad at a perfect matching pink! I may be on a hunt for one 🙂
- A denim jacket is always a good option to mix with it, especially if you go with the monochrome, (again, minus the embroidered colors), look, as I did!
I hope you all enjoyed my first ‘ways 2 wear’ post; and I would love some feedback if you all want more like this! You can either DM me or comment on the pic on Instagram! And, as always, when you need styling advice, feel free to contact me!
Until next time, peace and love!
XOXO,
Michelle
