Ways to Wear: Blush in the Fall & Winter
Chatting ways to wear blush in the fall & winter seasons to make your wardrobe last all year long!
Well, a big majority of people have seen their first snow day of the season; and, although we didn’t have much here in New Orleans, the flurries completely made my day! Technically, according to the calendar, it’s still fall; but if there is snow and it’s below 40 degrees, it’s officially winter in my book. Rules, schmules, right? With that said, I know we already chatted about breaking the “no white after labor day” rule in the Ways to Wear: White Booties in the Fall & Winter blog; so, now, let’s break some more rules and wear blush through fall and winter, as well. I mean, rules were made to be broken, right?! Even better, blush perfectly rolls right back around into spring; so, just like white, we can totally justify it because we’re getting more for our money 🙂
Honestly, almost all of the color and texture “rules” are out of the window these days. Like I always say, style is all in your confidence; so, if you own what you’re wearing, you will rock it and that’s all that matters. Now, don’t get me wrong, we aren’t going to wear turtlenecks in the summer for the sake of suffocating lol; but a velvet tank bodysuit would be completely acceptable year round :). If you need a little more inspo for velvet, check out my recent blog, Velvet Trends, for some examples and tips!

My exact scarf is linked and it’s one of my favorites!!! It goes with so much and I highly recommend it!
I’ve included lots of pics for inspo throughout this blog, but here are some great tips to pairing blush for the fall & winter months to achieve the perfect winter looks with some beautiful blush colors!
- Blush pairs great color-blocked with burgundy or navy velvet. My fav is burgundy!
- Find blush in textures, i.e. leather, velvet, or suede, because these are great fall and winter textures.
- Pair it with any animal print shoes and/or accessories, as I did above, to add a little edge.
- Find a blush overcoat, as this compliments almost any outfit.
- You can even wear blush with white jeans, yes, white jeans, and top it off with some taupe over the knee boots and a scarf for a winter vibe.
- If you’re still feeling iffy about the blush trend, you can just pair some blush accessories, pictured below, with one of your winter outfits to ease in to the trend!
- For any of these rules, you can apply the color white and get these same tips!
Last but not least, for an extra fashion tip before ending this blog, if you want to add a little extra fun to a sweater, give it a little tuck-in or side knot, like in the pics below!
I hope you all are enjoying blush this fall and winter as much as I am! Feel free to comment how you pair your fav blush looks!
