WAYS TO WEAR: LEATHER SHORTS
If there’s one trend that’s still making a statement this fall, it’s leather!!!! And just to be clear, I’m referring to faux leather!!! From patchwork, to leggings, to tops, to shorts, it was a hit last fall and it definitely circled back around to this one!!! I will do a more detailed one with pants as it gets colder here in the south :). We had a cool front but it’s back in the 80’s today lol! Back to fashion! If you’ve read my previous blog, Sleeve Drama Season, you’ve probably already bought some killer statements tops. My favorite leather piece is my high-waisted shorts; so, today, I want to show you ‘ways to wear’ your leather shorts (or pants) with not only your statement tops, but also with other pieces that you may already have in your closet! Speaking of things already in your closet, my leather shorts are from last season and they are going to stay around for a few more! I wish I could find this exact pair for you guys but I will link similar in case you’re looking for some; or if you already have some in your closet, I hope this blog gives you new inspo to style them!

T-shirts & Graphic Tees
You can take almost any t-shirt or graphic tee and pair it with leather shorts or pants to make it a little more dressy. I love this look because it’s adds an edgy-dressy vibe! I love adding some extra edge to my outfits any chance I get, which totally explains my “destroyed look” obsession! If I go with a plain tee, I like to add a little something extra, like my bandana scarf or some chunky jewelry. One of my newest fav graphic tees is this crushed velvet rose graphic tee linked below! I had to share it with you all because it isn’t even in my closet yet because it’s so new; but I just ordered it and can’t wait to pair it with some leather shorts or pants! I’m obsessed because I’m totally digging the velvet trend this season. Don’t worry, I have a velvet trend blog in mind for you guys coming up! My ‘live in the moment’ tee from American Eagle is sold out; but Target has the best positive graphic tees so I linked some below under the photos!

Denim and Leather
If there’s two things I LOVE mixing, it’s denim and leather! Weather it’s pairing it over a graphic tee or by itself, it always pairs so well with anything leather. If you’re always freezing like me, this comes in handy because usually the shirt is just perfect enough to keep warm, especially with these recent cold fronts making it feel more like fall. Well, for the past two days but, still, thanks, Mother Nature! And, side note, I’m loving the sock bootie trend that rolling right now! I definitely have these boots on repeat like crazy!

Dressy tops
If you guys remember from either my Insta-stories or my feed, the gray open-shoulder ruffle top and leather shorts outfit is the outfit that I wore to our blogger brunch at The Shops at Canal Place in New Orleans a few weeks ago. You all gave me great feedback on that and really loved the top; so I definitely had to include it in this blog. For dressy looks, I also loved pairing it with this asymmetrical ruffle top! Both of these tops have a dainty/elegant feel to them; so this is where my need for the ‘edge’ comes in because I love pairing these two styles together to create a dressy outfit with a touch of ‘edge’ to it! Is anyone else obsessed with pairing these types of pieces together?

Chunky Sweater
“Hellooooo, Fall” with this outfit!!! If we’re instagram friends, you know I love pairing a chunky sweater with shorts any day of the week; so since I was doing a blog specifically on leather shorts, I just had to pair it with this open-shoulder ribbed sweater to create this look! This one went fast after I posted it on Instagram; so I linked similar in case they don’t restock! To top it off, you all gave great feedback on these embroidered floral ankle booties, as well, on my feed; and I thought they paired perfectly to add a little pop to this outfit! Plus, I cannot believe they’re so affordable!!! P.S. I will link both price points here for those of you looking for the designer style along with similar styles in case you prefer less print.
